Design Aesthetics 13/3/2017 - Monday

Hi, welcome to my blog again. Today the class start with wacthing a video which name 'mamula moon' by La.Rosalie. Well...it was a familiar melody for "Malaysian", go search yourself then you will know the reason...So, today our lesson is about "What is Aesthetic".

- Aesthetics is one of the dimensions of design. It was a set of principles concerned with the nature nature and appreciation of beauty (Oxford Dictionary). The branch of philosophy which deals with questions of beauty and artistic taste. Alexander Baumgarten (1735) introduced the term 
'aesthetics'. The Greek word originally means ' I perceive, feel, sense '. The principles of arts are strongly related to daily living and culture, thus to understand the expression of critique, one must describe the way of life. Therefore, it is necessary to study culture and life in order to understand the rules and meaning of terms and phrases used in arts and art critique.

After that, Dr.Tan show us that the average life of  Malaysian is 55 years (during independence generation) , and the average life have changed to 77 years (female) and 72.5 years (male) in this generation.

Then, we continue our next topic , 'what is beauty ?'
 - A combination of qualities, such as shape, colour, or form , that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight. A combination of qualities that pleases the intellect. Denoting something intended to make someone more attractive.

 - A beautiful or pleasing thing or person, in particular:

i.    A beautiful woman

ii.   An excellent example of something

iii.  The pleasing or attractive features of (something)

iv.  The best aspect or advantage of something

What do you think beauty is ?

In my opinion, beauty is something that have a nice look which can attract people to focus or feel interesting.

How would you define beauty ?

Beauty is a combination that can make people or somethings look more attractive. Normally, people will have a good impression on the beautiful things.

How do u feel about beauty ?

Beauty is a visual appreciation that can make people feel happy, enjoy, and interested in something or someone.
